FAQ:

What if my book is handwritten?
So you have a problem typing your book? Don't worry, we can help you there too.
Our data entry services start at $3.00 per page printed and $5.00 per page handwritten.

What role do I play in getting my book into print?
We need to understand your full commitment to this project. We maintain a regular dialogue with you throughout every step of the development process.

Will you help me market my book?
Yes, promotion is an essential part of the publishing process. We have several marketing packages that cater to your individual needs as a writer and your publishing goals. We will send you a marketing proposal based on your plans and ideas for your book.

Who will I be selling my book to?
Everyone; bookstores, libraries, online booksellers, book clubs, etc. Maverick Media Group will make sure your book is accessible to everyone. Our book distribution network will help your book see its full potential.

What are Royalties and what's my cut?
Royalties are money you as the writer are owed every time one of your books sells. This amount is based on the payments we receive from the sale of your printed or electronic copies of your book, minus shipping, handling and sales taxes. Your royalty rate is 25%. Maverick Media Group pays higher royalty rates then most publishing houses; subsidy or otherwise. But remember, retail chains and wholesalers receive substantial discounts for purchasing books. Industry standards vary depending on the wholesaler/retailer.

Who owns the movie, television or theatre rights to my book?
You do! We only require the 15% commission that any manager or agent would receive.

Who designs my book cover and decides how much it should sell for?
Our trained and experienced staff of industry professionals will make those decisions. However, we prefer to work hand in hand with you the writer to seek your prior approval beforehand when changes or issues arise. Sudden changes and fluctuation in production costs or marketability are discussed and both parties are in agreement before any steps are taken. Remember, this is your project, we work for you.

Do you publish Out-of-Print Books?
Yes. As long as it’s your book or you have been granted permission from the copyright holder.

What If I need to make changes to my work?
Before going to print you will have an entire two weeks to contact us about changes to your work.

I'd like to know more about ghostwriting.
There are no reliable statistics on ghostwriters, since it involves high levels of secrecy, but a lot of traditionally-published, non-fiction books are ghostwritten. The process is fairly straight forward and is basically where you write something for a client and they take the credit for it; this includes romance and fiction articles, interviews, ebooks, press releases, etc. Ghostwriters have different levels of  involvement in the production of a finished work. Some of our ghostwriters may edit and clean up your rough draft, others may do most of the writing for you based on the outline that you provide.
